Working in retail, the Christmas holidays are the busiest season. We had our Christmas party just this past weekend following a get together.
Missionaries from many past trips got together with the Bishop from Bolivia to enjoy ice cream and fruits, as well as stories and memories. I always happen to have the best seat, right beside His Grace.
As a passionate (and frugal) thrifter and shopper, when I came across the idea of a clothing swap a few months ago, I jumped at the opportunity! I searched and searched for anything in the GTA until I found a quarterly swap held by Nathalie-Roze & CO, a vintage and Canadian clothing retailer in Leslieville, Toronto. My mother and I went to our first a few months back and I got some incredible grabs. The Winter Uber-Swap held by Nathalie-Roze & Co. this past Saturday was something I had been looking forward to for a while. My mother and I sorted through so much old clothes that we had more than enough to donate and bought 4 tickets! I brought my “little sister” Ella along, and my mom brought her “other daughter”, a coworker to the event. I didn’t get pictures of the swap, as it becomes too hectic. I snapped a quick shot on my cell phone (once I located it) of my mom and her guest sorting through our bags.
Check out these awesome bags made from recycled men’s shirts. Iconic of the UBERswap event to stuff your haul in!
More about my day and awesome finds inside!
While going through the storage room last weekend, we stumbled across a bunch of old blouses of my mums. I snagged a few retro pieces that she thought wouldn’t fit. I love the challenge.
One of my favourite little sisters celebrated her 20th birthday this past weekend with a bang! She had an awesome idea: Prom themed birthday with a philanthropy twist; we were to donate to Sick Kid’s hospital to get join her for her birthday with dinner and wine. We ended up raising around ~$200 and had an amazing night!

With the first day of classes for the semester in the new year, I had to dress up to suppress my disappointment – Back to waking up early and spending days in the library! Luckily the weather has been lovely this week and it allowed me to wear a lovely welcome to spring-inspired outfit. I love the warmer weather!
Being Orthodox, my family and I celebrate Christmas officially on the 7th of January as oppose to the 25th of December. The night before, the 6th, we dress up and go to church to pray a liturgy ending at midnight. For the last couple of years, my family and I have opted to go to the church we grew up in. Its so nostolgic to see my childhood brothers and sisters, and who’s kids have grown to be adults ext ext… I only see them twice a year now.
Some are a bit more [un?]lucky to see me more often, like my best friend Valerie
I think we looks quite stunning in our red outfits, and black heels. Oddly matching!
There’s finally snow on the ground (ignore the sound of excitement, I do not like the snow!) 2012 came to an end, and what a year. I spent last near years on the beach in Panama after 2 weeks in Bolivia. I lived in in Ivory Coast for 3 months in the summer. I started my fourth year of university. I had a great job and found some great pieces to add to my closet collection. Lastly, I think I found my self, as cliché as that sounds. I have big hopes and dreams for 2013. A few more travels and opportunities in my way. We’ll see what else the new year has in store for me!
To end off a great year, my family and I spent some time with family friends, and lots of food. I had a great time playing with the kids (with an hors d’oeuvres in my hand).

My handsome little devil
I live in Toronto. A major city. Actually, the capital of Ontario.
Ottawa, the Canadian capital is 5 hours away. As is one of my favourite people in the world. My friend Sami and a bunch of friends came down last week for a church retreat to visit. I met Sami so long ago on a retreat to Ottawa, and haven’t been able to see him in years. I was so excited this visit I could, so after work I threw on a sweater and heels and drove around for an hour trying to find this place.
